Bill Eld was one of the biggest exemplars of the new wave of models in nude male photography. The mega hung. Through the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s, photographers had concentrated on good looks and good physiques. Size wasn't important. In fact, maybe even eschewed as distracting from the overall beauty of the of the models.
But when the Supreme Court struck down much of censorship laws in the late 60s, photographers quickly realized there was big money to be made in big equipment, and I'm not talking about cameras creating higher resolution images for the big screen. The big schlongs Bill Eld and John Holmes were attached to were up and coming to adult theaters and home screens. Like when the talkies forced out the old stars of the silent era whose voices weren't well suited for sound
(like Greta Garbo's costar, "The Great Lover" John Gilbert), the smaller-endowed models of the older era faded from view, either voluntarily or involuntary. Small cocks, as they're wont to, disappeared. Big cocks ruled! Only in the last decade or so have little ones made a small comeback.
