    I like Poblesc and Redbud, but I think my fav by far has got to be Laundry. Idk why, but when I hear it, it has a nice peaceful breeze to it. I envision a house out in the country surrounded by lush green fields and a white picket fence. Outside the spacious yard is a woman dressed in a kind of polka dot dress with a sort of Rosie the riveter-looking headband hanging up stark white sheets and other laundry on a clothesline as they’re billowing in the wind. It gives off a nice peaceful feeling with the sun shining through the clouds on a nice summer day 😊

    It used to be the Kettel album I loved the less, simply because from the music to the artwork, I didn't feel the "nature" touch of Kettel very much in this one (except Poblesec's video which is stunning!). While a big part of his works from the past had the taste of fresh fructose, "Wingtip" made me think about the taste of artificial fruit flavor. Well, even your heroes sometimes don't deliver what you are expecting, and it's better and more fun this way! That being said, I re-discover the album today, and time has proven once again that it definitely is, my preferences aside, a masterpiece of playfulness and uniqueness. That's why "always-the-same" comparisons to Warp superstars are outdated. No, it doesn't sound like Aphex Twin, no it doesn't sound like Plaid. It's time for other new artists to be compared to Kettel (even if I have never found anyone sounding like him).
    Love!

      Steinvord for when you need that fast stuff - Microlith for when you want to chill on smooth and somewhat slow acid lines

    Gave this a listen for the first time yesterday and absolutely loved it. The album reminds me of a more cheerful version of Aphex Twin.

    The thing that makes this album so good is that it's simply musical, not just some collage of weird sounds with the IDM label slapped on it.

    • @elby598

      nope they both have their own styles

    • @hillarysasscrack2317
      @hillarysasscrack2317 8 лет назад +9

      Kettel kicks the _SHIT_ out of bonobo! Kettel is a true electronic music artist -- bonobo is a haphazard clone of so many other nondescript and unoriginal music-makers.

    • @TheJoeMiller88
      @TheJoeMiller88 8 лет назад +5

      I love them both, but can't see too many similarities - very different sound-palettes and rhythmic inclinations. Kettel's much more in the IDM tradition than Bonobo.

    • @youre100right3
      @youre100right3 7 лет назад +1

      They're quite different... but I've listened to 4 popular songs by bonobo and it's hard to listen to it for more than 30 seconds. It's like a bunch of random things put together without much thought (though I'm sure he put effort into it). Very impressed by Kettel's works like Follow Me!, Pinch of Peer, Quickpig, etc. All very different styles but he knows how to develop ideas and make most tracks unique.
