The cardstocks I compared in the video are not from other crafters or brands in the cardmaking industry. They're bulk cardstock packs I bought from big box stores and cardstock manufacturers.
I chose not to label them because my goal wasn't to call out any specific company, just to highlight the differences in paper quality. But I realize that might have caused some confusion.

I really like Simon's cardstock. I knew there were differences in white cardstock but had a hard time finding a good one. What a difference when I tried Simon's! You can feel the quality from the moment you touch it. It is very smooth and takes ink so well! Plus, there's no 'blotchiness' because the ink blends so nicely. I am a convert for sure!

Most white cardstock is designed for printing, not crafting. So its nice to see some cardstock designed specifically for crafting techniques.

I really appreciated your detailed technical notes throughout. They can be applied in so many more ways than you can show in any one video.

I LOVE your inks Simon! It’s time I finally got some of your Stark White cardstock!
I love anything “butterfly” so naturally, that was my favorite card, but what I loved so much is the background! I can’t wait to use the dots stencil to try the technique where you took some color away and then blended more ink with the second stencil.

I knew there was a difference between cardstock and have seen what looks like a coating on the cardstock. Order yours and will be trying it out. Just starting out I have several different types of cardstocks plain and colored. There is a difference. Thank you for the demonstration.

Great video! Lots of fun techniques. I haven’t tried inking my cardstock after foiling, so I’m anxious to give that a try. As you said in your video, colored card stock doesn’t always work well with hot foiling. I really liked your first card with the postage edge. Thank you for all of the wonderful ideas!

Your cardstock is my absolutely perfection. It’s sturdy. Smooth! great for absolutely everything. People have tried to talk me into using other cardstock. No way! I buy it through my small retailer and it takes forever to come but it’s a must have for me ! I live in Canada and it’s worth the wait.

Hi Simon, You rock! I love your video techniques and your card making ideas. I always turn to your channel to find out about your new projects as well as your opinions on others products.

I admit I have been curious as to why your papers were created. It makes sense based on how it works with the ink. I know I don’t have any papers that performed the way you’ve shown. You showed me why should I buy your paper when there are so maaannnyy available and I have so many types already for this or that. You showed how to use it with “ primitive” blending tools as compared to the trendy brushes, which yes I do have and rarely use because I “just can’t blend well” even with them. Yeah, apparently it is not me but the paper😂. Then pop ups tell us where as does the description. Thanks for solving the mystery!

Thank you for the visual explanation and detailed notes about the different card stocks. It really made a difference. all the cards were great, but I especially love the monsters. I would love to spellbinders came out with matching die sets for that. I’m horrible at fussy cutting 😂

What a fantastic demonstration, SImon! I am going to check my cardstock and see how it acts. I use Nina Solar Class Crest 80 lb and 110 lb for most of my stamping and die cutting, and sometimes 140 lb water color paper when i want to go all mixed media. I think I've seen that shine on it when it is super saturated with ink. :( .... great tips that you shared too!!

Hi Simon. Great sales job on your card stock! You’ve got me convinced as one of the biggest problems I have is warping. I do have a packet of your cardstock which I keep ‘for best’ as here in Australia 🇦🇺 it can be quite difficult to find and I can’t remember where I bought mine from. Thanks for sharing your lovely cards and I especially like the one with butterflies - 🦋 so bright and colourful 😊

I also noticed that most craft card stocks dissolve when they come into contact with liquid paint.
I usually use cheaper, thick drawing paper (approx. 200g), which holds up a bit like Fabriano Accademi paper.

That first card was beautiful I've never received a valentine card before 😢and butterflies are my favourite. I also absolutely love the second one. I wish someone went to that effort for me🥺 oh well I'm not going to live to see next Christmas I have many health problems. You really brighten my day and you taught me so much Im bedbound but I use a table easle with a magnetic surface to attach and work on my projects. It's all very well using your card stock, however some people cannot get access to that. We just have to use what we can get in our countries

Thank you for explaining the situation. I’ve ran into that issue. I was thinking it was my blending brushes. I guess I need to invest into the Stark White CS. On a different note, do you have the wood blending handle for each color ink? How do you store those blending handles with the dome?

I only have 4 of your reinkers. Can I put some down on a blending mat and use it directly for blending or painting?
