In terms of plot - I feel like this episode brought a lot to the table.

I have to agree though - some of the fights have been generic, which is sad because I know that people really enjoy the manga so so much. I am sure many manga readers may say the fighting is (hopefully) more intense in the manga (usually is the case).

But someone had talked about Yu swinging his sword around. I've felt that as well. I feel like it's hard to determine who is strong and who is not - it all seems the same to me. The only person who has felt "strong" on the human side is Guren.

Also, yes, I feel like many of the noble vampires have a similar personality, which makes me sad. Even if personalities are generic, I do prefer a mix.

Again, I say this as someone who has not read the manga, so I may sound incredibly clueless or whatnot. I really have enjoyed the anime so far, and do look forward to reading the manga this summer! Overall, I enjoyed the episode, as it brings in a lot of new information. I will look forward to next week's episode!

in the manga,if im not mistaken, the Seraph of the End power of Yu's was WAY MORE OVERPOWERED and the fight with crowley didnt even happen in the manga. That just hyped him unnecessarily and falsely. Seraph of the end was capable of 1 shotting a Noble but ok

But, as you can see in the new manga chapter, Crowley is OP af. And he was dodging Yuu most of the time, anyways.

But, yeah, the Seraph should be going after the humans. Even in the manga, he shows no interest in killing the vampires.

They just got so much money from SnK that they wanted to try one more time to see if things are gonna work for them again and decided to make a cheap and painfully average version of SnK just to make more money
Sadly, the manga has a potential

Also the animation in this episode is way better than what we were seeing up until now I swear I even liked it so much that I wondered how I could have been watching the previous episodes, the difference in art and animation is noticeably big

You actually hit it spot on.

But. Ofc the Nobles have different personalities. They're all based on being condescending and arrogant, but they do have personalities apart from that.

Examples:
Ferid is a nice, playful guy on the outside, but is actually a sadist. All that, but still condescending and arrogant.

Crowley is calm and pleasant, although being prideful, but not arrogant.

Krul is soft and gentle to most humans and hates the Progenitor council.

See? 3 different personalities.

Mika's over-protectiveness was pretty annoying. Yes, he was right about Yu being used by humans, but damn, it seemed more like he just wanted Yu to elope with him! Then he goes "Don't kill humans." C'mon bro..

Asuramaru's Zangetsu stance though.. All he need was a pair of cool sunglasses and he would've been all set.

Ghoul Yu going berserk was kind of cool, I guess? That was one hell of a Kagune! I like how even Guren knew Shinoa had to pull a cliched trope to save the day. GG there..

Average episode. A bit curious about the mysterious looking female character in the PV frame.

Damn it one episode left... and second season coming in fall.

It was a pretty cool episode. I mean, it kind of had to be since they teased us so much the last two episodes, with scenes we didn't see till now.

Those slashes were terrifying... well it looks like Yu is back though, so that's good. They better end it properly next time, and not some mid battle cliffhanger derp >_>

Ain't Yuu the cutest damsel in distress.

But seriously Mika carrying him away like a princess was rather ridiculous (but hey, they have to appeal to fujoshis somehow).

Berserk Yuu vs that one vampire was somewhat interesting (atleast more so than the previous boring fights).

A hug gets him out of his berserk mode ain't that cliche sweet.

I simply come here to voice my opinion on this anime and the episodes. It's not my fault that it's crap. And yes, the yaoi vibes are definitely there. With Naruto and Sasuke, they had a manly rivalry (Not denying that there was yoai-ish moments though).. These guys cry and hug on each other.

And it's cute how you're trying to make up a story about my life. Idiots like you seriously need to get outside more.

At least they ACT like family. They are both extremely broken, thanks to their parents and their new family being destroyed. Then they were separated for 4 years..

They may be yaoi-y, but they act like real people. Real people will cry and hug each other when things like that happen.

You guys are like: Aww, man, Guren is so weak. Is this legit?

Guren's like: Keikaku doori.

Wow I really want to give this a 10 but I'm not sure yet

The Yu x Mika was just as I wanted it and the rivalry right there, Mika saving Shinoa was like woah!

It's the second last episode and I still can't decide if I want Yu to be with Shinoa or Mika

Mika was right though the experimenting on Yu was cruel and I don't like Gurren at all now, he just isn't that good a character but it's the complete opposite for Shinoa I fucking love her right now the way she hugged Yu was amazing and she's just such a good character, welp 1 more episode.

Welp, the episode wasn't boring, that's a big feat to reach in this series. The animation was definitely better than last episode, there wasn't anything eye stabbing like last ep.

For the actual episode - I feel like I've seen everything that was in this episode somewhere else, namely Naruto: Yu's transformation, Shinoa hugging him to calm him down, other details reminded me of Naruto a lot. Also, why do all the vampires have to have this awful smug on their faces, jezus. Yu's reactions and all the rage emotions come a bit weird to me. The series didn't make it seem like the gang are such close buddies, it lacked chemistry and meaningful interactions so Yu was a bit over the top for me, but hey, it's better than the brain numbing crap we had before.

Finally the soundtrack was audible enough.

Meh.

Wow this episode. Such great animation. Did you guys see all those well timed stills and the amazing choreography? You could literally see all the budget being poured into this episode.

Ok jokes aside, I don't think wasting half of the episode on Ferid strangling Guren was that necessary. Pretty convenient how he couldn't even kill Guren in all those wasted minutes. I also wonder why Yuu didn't get his typical shonen powerup back in episode 1 when Mika almost died but I doubt it'll ever be explained. There were many other issues in this episode which hindered my enjoyment quite a lot like the inconsistencies when it comes to the characters.

Anyways, this series literally has no image of its own and uses every shonen cliché it can find which is quite sad.

The fated reunion comes and everything starts to go down from there. jfc they made Mika more annoying and incomprehensible to Yuu caring about his friends back there, which I found added to the situation pretty nicely, even though Mika was absolutely like that in the first place. Shinoa with her hair down was just <3. The action was average as usual. Seeing that the next episode's probably going to give some basic details on Mahiru, it's unclear how this'll end besides it having them possibly retreat.

One of the best episodes. I read Crowley was filler but then that means he went straight for Shinoa in the manga? (I'll start reading after this cour ends). If he did, then it was necessary to add the fight in, especially to prove how OP Seraph mode is.

Edit: So seraph only goes after humans huh.....doesn't that kinda make it pointless?

Orsonius said:

of course we get a generic Shounen Powerup to save his friends

Generic power-up could be argued but what could be done in that situation? Yuu isn't strong enough to fend off 3 nobles alone, he'd get killed or KO'd by Mika before he could do anything. He could try taking 2 or 3 pills but at what cost? It was either go Seraph or Asura taking over his body which would have potentially been a worse scenario.

Wow, this episode was extroardinarily revealing as well as confounding in a very positive way.

This anime seems to have multiple allusions to religon and lore, and I am HOPING that extends into Yu's newfound power/curse. The only clues that are communicated about the origins of this power, however, lie within the backdrop of the conversation with Asuamura, in which angels, golden horns, and an unatural amount of light contrasted the usual dark mist emitted by Asuamura certainly alludes to a heavenly presence, as well as Yu's ramblings while possessed by the inhuman monster, being to "annihilate all of the sinners." With this in mind, perhaps Yu has merged with an Angel of Death often alluded to within multiple religons, most prominent among which being those with the prophet Moses. If this were the case, it would explain why Yu would attack Shinoa, possibly judging her as evil for her sentiments in favor of sexual infedelity, why Asuamura is already opposed to the idea of coexisting with this being, and it could possibly also explain the title, Owari no Seraph, or Seraph of the End.

Let me know what yoy all think below, as well as post your own theories/ideas!

It is, but that's what authors do to create suspense. Plus, whilst he sees the vamps as a 1/4 of a threat, the Seraph doesn't even care about the humans. So he can take his time on her, but the Vampires are annoying as hell.

It's not even that noticeable unless you actively seek it out every second and don't even care about watching the show.

That was lame, he didn't kill a single enemy. Dude just thrashed around attacking nothing and then was calmed by the power of hugs.

Animation quality is still inconsistent but it's a step up from last week

It's the goddamn season climax, why shouldn't anyone be disappointed if WIT won't put their best foot forward at a time like this?
